Melissa Byran, CNM, WHNP-BC
Melissa grew up in Lauderdale County and received her Associate Degree in Nursing from the University of West Alabama in 1995. She began her nursing career at Riley Hospital where she worked in Labor and Delivery for 17 years, then 2 more years in Labor and Delivery at Anderson Regional Medical Center. She went on to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama, graduating summa cum laude in 2012. In 2015, she graduated from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, KY with her Master’s degree in Nursing and received her training for Nurse Midwifery and Women’s Health.
Her certifications include, Certified Nurse Midwife through the American Midwifery Certification Board; Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Specialties; and Fetal Monitoring Instructor through the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN)
Professional memberships include the American College of Nurse Midwives and AWHONN.
Melissa is affiliated with Anderson Regional Medical Center and Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS and sees patients at Meridian OB/GYN, PLLC with her collaborating physician, Elizabeth A. Trest, D.O..
Melissa currently resides in Cuba, Alabama with her husband Todd of 15 years and her 3 children, Brooklyn, Reagan and Jamie. She enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor activities and attending her children’s various sporting events. She is a member of Cuba Baptist Church.
